Warranties provide peace of mind by protecting your pool investment. But understanding what’s covered, for how long and how to make a claim can be confusing. This FAQ answers common questions about pool, equipment and workmanship warranties. If you don’t see your specific question here, contact us—we’re here to clarify your coverage and help you navigate any warranty issues.
Who Provides the Warranty?
There are three main types:
Some manufacturers allow warranty transfer if the home sells, while others require a transfer fee or limit the warranty to the original purchaser. Check your warranty documents or ask us for specifics.
Duration varies by pool type and manufacturer:
Workmanship warranties vary; Pools of Fun generally offers a one-year workmanship warranty for new installations.
What’s Covered – Fiberglass, Vinyl & BioDesign
Structural warranties cover cracks, leaks or osmotic blistering. Gel coat surfaces may have separate coverage. Warranties typically don’t cover cosmetic imperfections, colour fading or damage caused by improper chemical balance.
Liner warranties often cover seam separation or manufacturing defects, typically on a prorated basis. They do not cover tears, punctures, wrinkles or fading due to improper maintenance, chemical imbalance or environmental factors.
These natural pools have specific structural warranties covering materials and workmanship. Coverage for sand-resin surfaces may differ, and warranties often require adherence to maintenance guidelines.
Check your contract for details specific to your pool type and manufacturer.
Exclusions & Limitations
Damage resulting from neglect, unbalanced water chemistry or failure to follow care instructions.
Storm, flood, earthquake or other natural events unless specifically covered by insurance.
Normal wear such as fading, staining, scaling or minor cosmetic imperfections.
Repairs or modifications by anyone other than authorized technicians can void warranties.
Third-party equipment may not be covered under our workmanship warranty.
Always read warranty documentation carefully to understand exclusions and maintenance requirements.
How to Seek Service
Contact Pools of Fun or the equipment manufacturer directly, depending on what’s covered. Provide proof of purchase, installation date and a detailed description of the issue.
Many manufacturers require registration to activate equipment warranties. We’ll assist with registration if needed; if you’re unsure, contact us.
Response times vary by manufacturer and season, but we work to resolve warranty issues as quickly as possible. Pools of Fun helps coordinate repairs and replacements.
Labour may be covered for certain issues within a specific timeframe; otherwise, labour costs could be the homeowner’s responsibility. Review your warranty agreement for details.
Other Considerations
Using low-quality or incompatible chemicals can damage pool surfaces or equipment. Always use products recommended by Pools of Fun or the equipment manufacturer to avoid voiding your warranty.
Neglecting routine maintenance—such as water balancing, cleaning and filter care—can void warranties and cause damage not covered by warranty or homeowner’s insurance.
Some manufacturers offer extended warranty programs. Discuss with your sales representative during purchase or contact us for options after installation.
Most warranties don’t cover freeze damage. Proper winterization or using freeze protection devices is essential to avoid cracks and damage.
Contact Pools of Fun first. We’ll determine if the issue falls under the pool, equipment or workmanship warranty and facilitate repairs with the appropriate manufacturer.
